Ladder Christmas “Tree”

Who says Christmas trees have to be trees?

What about a ladder Christmas tree?
Although I have a traditional tree in my living room, I like to jazz things up a bit.
This tree certainly fits the bill!  Picked up at an estate sale and adorned with lights and vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, this “tree” is unexpected.

Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ahhhh!  Yes, that’s how I feel about my ladder tree.
I want to sing when I see it.
You already know I have issues so it’s good to be able to share them with you!
Just wrapped some lights around the ladder and hung vintage ornaments that I’ve collected over the years.
On the steps sit snowy mason jar candles wrapped with burlap and a jingle bell – a cinch to make.

The tree topper is old silver trophy found at the same estate sale (that ladder and trophy were destined to be together!) filled with dried hydrangeas from my yard.

I’ve been decking the halls, porches, trees and mantels too.

  2. So love the step ladder bird bath. I have just started (late of course) my garden. But, really never to late. I have the most beautiful shade tree in my fron yard. I have a terrible slope. So spent a lot of my time leveling for front patio. So now the garden can go in. Then low and behold. The miracle of all miracles I ran across your step ladder bird bath. I have a million thoughts going in my head, as to how to do this now. Center focus will be around the garden surrounding this great tree, in the center of my patio in my front yard. Way to hot here for grass. So, it’s all about the beautiful gardens. I am very fortunate to have I believe 7 or 8 huge trees in my front yard. So many birds, yes probably as many squirrels. But, they are all God’s creatures. There is plenty for everyone. The birdbath will be beautiful. I have already placed an ad on Craig’s List for an old wooden step ladder short one. 3 or 4 steps. I haven’t herd back yet. But, I will. Thanks so much for the great idea.

      1. Hi, no luck on the ladder yet. But, a nice gentleman offered to cut his down if I don’t find what I need. So I may go with that. He was very kind. He also was fairly close by. I will keep you posted. It’s all good. Thanks for being there. Your Tree ladder is great. At Christmas, I saw a great tree made of stacked books, with lights and scatters decorations. It was quite cool. I thought I would try thAt one this year. I will post it for you. Hopefully it will photograph well. Sure hope my cat likes it. HAHAHA
        Thanks Judy

  3. I’ll be searching all the antique shops and junk stores for a good ladder this year. For some reason I don’t think I can check a ladder with my luggage when I come back from America to Holland:) A new project for the year.. fun! Thanks again! Lisa

  4. I follow you on Facebook and I just saw your “My Christmas House” post and had to take a look. I love the look of this ladder. Everything works so well together. I have a pallet that I’ve been wanting to do something like this too.

great job, I’ll be pinning this for sure!

  5. This is absolutely gorgeous and *so* unexpected. I envision it on the wrap around porch of our lake home (which we have yet to find but in my head it so has a wrap around porch).
