Imagine the Impossibilities Challenge

 Imagine The Impossibilities Challenge!

Turn the knob to go below into my basement and be afraid, very afraid!
Join me and five of my bloggy buddies as we each find our “Impossible” and conquer it!

We challenged each other to do something we thought we couldn’t do.

I will finally accomplish my “Impossible”!

What is it, you’re wondering?  It’s embarrassing to admit but here goes (don’t judge).

After 16 years of wedded bliss (most of the time!), two kids, three houses, three rentals while we house hunted or renovated, one move out of state and one move back again, I’ve accumulated a lot of “stuff”!  It’s completely overwhelming!  What to keep, what to sell, what to donate, what to trash?  Then there’s the unpacking, sorting, organizing, cleaning … whew, I need a cocktail just thinking about it!

You see, while my house looks relatively well organized and clutter free (ok, things shoved in closets and under my bed!) upstairs, what lurks in my basement is a scary matter.  I’m talking head spinning, pea spitting scary!

I commit to purge 16 years worth of accumulations buried in the abyss of my basement then clean and organize the rest!  Whew – they say admitting the problem is the first step to recovery.  Well, now that the cat’s out of the bag, I guess I have to make it happen.

Enough chit chat, let’s get this “Impossible” party started!  I vow to accomplish my goal by January 31.

Oh the Shame!
Just Some of What Lies Beneath in the Basement

Take the Imagine the Impossibilities Challenge with Us!

1)  Post your “Impossible” in the comments section.  2) Each week (Jan 16, 23 & 30) we will all be posting about our progress.  Please follow along with us (although it may be like watching a train wreck).  Feel free to post your progress in the comments of those posts too.

3) On January 31, I will be posting my (hopefully) accomplished “Impossible” along with my 5 blog buddies:
Kari from Thistlewood Farm – Bake bread from scratch (this girl can barely boil water)

Linda from It All Started With Paint – Paint her vaulted bedroom ceiling
(she may have to build scaffolding to do it, but it will get done – fingers crossed)

Andrea from The Cottage Market – Organizing her craft room (so many tchotchkes, so little room)

Khara from The Space Between – Hang a gallery wall while putting only one hole in the wall
(she’s a renter and can’t mutilate her walls)

Stacey from A Sort of Fairytale – A non-sewer sews a purse (yikes, hope she has lots of band-aids)

4) On January 31 (mark your calendar), we will each host a Link Party so you can link up your “Impossible”.

Together we can do it.  So start thinking!  What’s your “Impossible”?
