I Scored at the Thrift Store – $5 Take it Now!

How could I say no?

It seemed more like an order.

$5 – Take it Now!

Eclectically Vintage thrift find

In red marker too.

Those thrift shop ladies meant business.

A teak mid century Danish Modern bar cart on casters – made in Denmark stamped on the bottom!

They are selling on Ebay for $350 and up!

So even though I technically saved $345, my hubs still rolled his eyes as I rolled it into the house.

Hey, who am I to say no to such a demand – in red marker?

Check out all the finds that I’ve been Scoring at the Thrift Store til the cows come home!

  5. What a score!!! And HAVE FUN at the conference. You’ll be great!!

  6. My husband would roll his eyes too but what a great find!!

  7. How do you get so darn lucky as to have red marker TELLIING you to take cool stuff home?? Girl…you are just too much. This is fantastic!

  8. That is a total score. I’m red with jealousy! We’ve got a guy who runs a shop near us who always gives you a price lower than the one marked, but “That’s the price today! It won’t be the price tomorrow! If you want it, take it now.”

  9. You have magic at the Thrift Store. $5????? What, does no one listen to Red Marker commands anymore? Good thing you are an obedient type. What a find!

  10. When mine does that… I bring up the ebay listing!! They understand $$$ ;)

But then.. they want you to sell it. LOL!

  11. WOW! What an awesome score!! And, in red marker! A must buy!

  12. Great find! This is a gorgeous piece!

  13. Glad you scored! Good luck with your presentation. You will do great!

  14. I just might have fought you for it.

  15. This would make a great bar cart! Great find!
    Susan

  16. This is really a great piece, hubby can roll his eyes as long as he wants, this is a keeper! Good luck!

Oh my, did you ever score! That is seriously an awesome scoop!

  18. Fabulous find! Hope you are having a spectacular time at the conference! xox

  19. You did a nice job at the SBC! Great talk!

  20. OMG that is AMAZING. LOVE LOVE LOVE! And my husband would do the exact same thing. LOL

  21. yes! i wouldn’t be able to pass this by either…only thing better would be if it was stocked!

  22. Great cart!!! I am in the process of turning my home decor into mid-century
modern. I was lucky when I found (on the side of the road), an original mid-century modern record
player cabinet/console with the Victor stereo inside. Perfect condition inside and out!!!
I checked online and the few I could find similar to mine have a price tag of over $1000 ($1400
and $1800). wow! It pays to have one’s eyes open!!!

  23. What a find for $5.00! Awesome!

  24. Love it, especially the casters. Yesterday I got two tables for $2.99~ my husband rolled his eyes as well. Don’t ya just love their support, lol!
    Kim

  25. That is a great find. I’ve found some great finds at thrift stores, but I have not had much luck with furniture or other ‘larger’ items.

  26. Cool MCM piece at a WOW PRICE.

  27. I love this blog and what a great find.. Found a sewing machine table at a Yard sale brought it home for 4.50…. Want to sand it down and paint country blue.. but almost afraid to touch it.. Keep up with the fantastic blog!

  28. now this is a score! been looking for a bar cart for a while now – can’t find the right one at the right price. Not sure I would have caught the value in this one like you did!

  29. I don’t know if I love the table more or the fact that you followed the demand of the red letter sign. I would have done the same thing and my argument to my husband would be “the sign says take it now” and then he would complain as we try to squish it into our four door sedan. I scored a 5$ piece of furniture but it was not vintage or of this quality. Pure Awesomeness! Score for you! Lesley

  30. Connie Haack says:

I bought a $7.00 teddy bear at an auction and my husband rolled his eyes….When I sold it on Ebay for $719.00 he smiled and no longer rolls his eyes at my silly purchases.
